Brief Bio

From the plains of North Dakota, USA, artist Jennifer Lyn and her band Jennifer Lyn and The Groove Revival are gaining attention from a rapidly growing regional, national, and international fan base for her original music. Her songs are being described with words such as “raw, powerful, and soulful”. Fans describe her voice as a mix of Susan Tedeschi and Bonnie Raitt, which Jennifer finds humbling as both have been her influences.

Since picking up lead guitar in 2013, Jennifer has progressed at an astonishingly quick rate to emerge on the music scene as a budding young guitarist coupled with her hauntingly soulful vocals. Backed by seasoned musicians, her power trio Jennifer Lyn and The Groove Revival plays a variety of cover music during their live shows paying tribute to some of their greatest influences. From Aretha to AC/DC, Joplin to Hendrix, Zeppelin to ZZ Top, plus original music, you never know what song will be next!

With the release of her debut album ‘I’m All Wrong for You Baby’ on October 8, 2016, she proved she has much to share and she’s here to stay. Backed by Kevin Holm (Drums) and Darren King (Bass), the group showcases their ability to meld various genres and create vintage sounds with a whole lot of soul while keeping with the traditional power trio format. Produced by international recording artist Richard Torrance (Shelter/Capitol Records), and mixed/mastered by Grammy nominated engineer David Swenson (Makoche Studios), the album was released and immediately gained traction within the Blues and Blues-Rock communities.

News

Vintage Guitar Magazine went live at the 2017 Fargo Blues Festival recording a video of the final song that Jennifer Lyn and The Groove Revival performed during their set. Besides playing the original songs off her debut album "I'm All Wrong for You Baby", Jennifer and her band paid tribute to a few of the artists and bands that helped shape their original sound. They culminated their performance by paying homage to one of Jennifer's favorite song writers of all-time. The final song, "Whipping Post", written by the late great Gregg Allman, was a song Jennifer first heard on the Allman Brothers epic "Live at Fillmore East" album. She and her bands version of Gregg's song left people standing on their feet. You can see that tribute below.

Reviews

- "Strat-toting Lyn plays with a burning intensity, stinging the strings and singing with a rarified growl" Michael Dregni, Vintage Guitar Magazine

- "She writes, she sings and handles the guitar like it was born in her hands. At her shows, you can’t wait to see what song will knock you back next!" - Bob Harris, KFGO Radio

- “Very soulful voice and great guitar player. She puts her heart into every note. You don’t just listen to her music, you feel it." – Stacy Sturm, URL Radio

- “Jennifer Lyn is that rare artist who writes songs and then plays them extremely well in a live setting. She is a natural performer who electrifies every room she plays.” – Todd Sattler, Co-Owner of Laughing Sun Brewing Co.

- “Over the past 8 years of promoting Blues shows for many National, Regional, and Local acts, I have seen many acts come and go. But, Jennifer Lyn will be an act to stand the test of time. Her salty vocals and sultry look along with her guitar skills are sure to please any crowd from small clubs to large festivals. Don’t miss your chance to see, hear, or book this great up and coming talent!” – Steve “Steamer” Stelton of Steamer Promotions.
